While the solid waste becomes residuals while the liquid waste flows towards the outlet drain. Gases like biogas, carbon dioxide, etc are produced in the septic tanks which stay atop and escape through the vent pipes.

Rainwater harvesting is one of the few effective solutions to tackle the ever-growing problems of water scarcity and hence has always made ecological sense. Also, it is a more economical alternative to water treatment plants/facilities. Almost 50 % of water can be saved through rain water harvesting while also preserving groundwater reserves, and thereby taking the strain off wastewater treatment systems.
